Interview: Sara Kodermac

Something about yourself:
I am Sara Kodermac, 30 years old, a lawyer by profession, and have been employed by the Police for several years. My relatives, friends and acquaintances tell me that I am always in a good mood and full of energy. I describe myself as a person who is shy with strangers, but chatty and silly with acquaintances. I think it is very important to spread positive energy and kindness. To people, animals and the environment. I have been a vegetarian since elementary school and I love being outdoors. It is not unusual for me to be in Koper today, Maribor tomorrow, and Kranjska Gora the day after tomorrow. Sports have accompanied me since I was a child, as I think there are few sports left that I have not tried yet. In the past, I devoted most of my time to dance and kickboxing, as I have also trained in both for several years in the past, and in kickboxing I have also participated in national competitions and international championships. I am an adrenaline junkie who likes to try skydiving, explore the underground world of caves, visit high mountains or enjoy riding a motorbike. Otherwise, I could describe myself as a typical Scorpio woman who can be very stubborn. I love traveling, photography, good food and drink, spending time with my loved ones and discovering new places. I prefer to escape from everyday stress and chores into nature, especially the high mountains, where I enjoy natural beauty and fresh air. Last year, I hiked the Slovenian mountain trail, which I set myself to do by the time I was 30, and I succeeded.

What does your average day look like?
Due to my busy work schedule, no day is the same. For me, routine does not exist, as I have learned to adapt my private life to my work obligations. On days when I work, I use the remaining time for sports (fitness, running or walking on a nearby hill) and various chores. On my days off, I prefer to go on a longer mountain tour, explore the hidden natural and cultural corners of Slovenia, and spend time with family and friends.

How do you organize your day?
I always organize my day around my work schedule. I usually plan it a day in advance so I know what sports equipment I need to bring with me so I can change at the end of work. I also organize my days off a week in advance, as my friends often call me and "book" me for some mountain adventure.
What were you like as a child, what were you interested in, what did you like to do?
As a child, I always preferred to be with my family. I looked up to my older sister and often annoyed her by following her everywhere. I loved listening to music on long drives, as we traveled a lot. My parents instilled in me a love of traveling and discovering new things. I was a lively child, but very shy. I tried many sports and other activities, so I am very grateful to my parents for having the will to drive me around to various clubs and training sessions.

Where does the motivation/energy for your lifestyle come from?
I think my biggest motivation is nature itself and the feeling you get when you have a really good workout. If possible, I train outdoors. I enjoy the beauty of nature, but at the same time I enjoy the peace and fresh air. That's why I prefer to find quiet and hidden corners, away from the hustle and bustle of people and noise. It's not difficult to go to the mountains if you know what kind of world awaits you in the heights. I include sports in my everyday life, because for me it means disconnecting from everyday stress and obligations. So it's not hard to find motivation for it, because for me it means relaxing my body and mind. I often combine sports with discovering new and unvisited corners, so that gives me an extra boost.

What sports do you do daily or weekly?
For me, hiking/running uphill is definitely the number one thing. Visiting hills and mountains is not only a great workout for me, but it has become a big part of my life. I only visit the mountains with friends and family, and rarely by myself. Good company is very important to me, which is why I don't venture into the mountain world with strangers. In addition to visiting the mountains, I also go to the gym, but I only go there during the winter months, when the weather is worse and less suitable for outdoor activities.

Favorite spot you like to go to?
There are definitely more. I have favorite spots in the place where I live, in the place I come from, in the place where I work, and also the mountains, which I enjoy visiting at least once a year. Of course, all of the mentioned spots are in nature, connected to the forest and water.

What does good clothing mean to you?
For me, good clothing is when it is comfortable, practical, of good quality and sustainable. This means that it provides me with comfort when worn, does not rub or otherwise hinder my movement, dries quickly and does not cause unpleasant odors or the development of bacteria, does not wrinkle excessively, does not bleed, and is durable in terms of weather and other conditions. I certainly expect clothing to be able to be worn for a long time and not to show signs of damage after a few washes or short use.

What changes once you put on sportswear – does your motivation for something more increase?
I always buy sportswear that I like, which means that it is comfortable, of good quality and beautiful. When I put on sportswear, tie my hair and remove my makeup, I know that it is time to do something good for myself and it is time to "have fun". Whether it is a slow walk in nature or a great workout that my muscles occasionally remind me of a few days later. For me, the mental switch to training begins right when I change into sportswear.
How did you perceive sportswear in the past and how do you perceive it today?
As a younger girl, I certainly put the most emphasis on the fact that my sportswear looked good. I didn't care about what material it was made of, whether it was comfortable, or any other questions. I would rather wear clothes that I liked visually and were uncomfortable than comfortable and high-quality clothes. Of course, over the years of playing sports, I learned that clothes are an important factor in good training. As the saying goes: "There is no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothes," which I think sums up the fact that it is important to choose quality clothes that make it easier for us to deal with the weather and other factors while playing sports.
What does your sports dressing system look like?
Of course, I condition my choice of clothing based on the sport I'm going to be doing at that moment, the weather conditions, and whether I'll be outdoors or indoors. I have clothes that I only use for outdoor sports (e.g. windbreakers, warmer clothes, etc.) and clothes that I only use for fitness. Of course, there are also several pieces of clothing that I use for different sports, and I prefer those because they are the most practical.
Where do you see the advantages of SportHG clothing?
SportHG clothing is high-quality, functional and comfortable. It is light and pleasant, and certainly also looks good. I see the advantage of SportHG clothing in the fact that it is higher quality clothing that offers the athlete all the comfort and necessary protection, both from weather influences and bacteria that irritate the skin.
What from the SportHG collection would you recommend to girls who like to play sports?
Looking at my closet, where leggings reign supreme, I would say that I recommend buying good, comfortable, and beautiful leggings to other girls. Quality leggings are useful for various types of sports, both indoors and outdoors, and almost all year round. I think every girl deserves leggings in her wardrobe that she feels great in.
What are your future plans/plans?
I don't have any major plans for the future, as I more or less stick to the "go with the flow" principle in life. However, I do have a desire to gain the necessary knowledge to visit high mountains in the winter and to accumulate a few more running kilometers, especially uphill. I think I will work hard on these two wishes in the coming months.

PRODUCT REVIEW – RIDGE SHORT T-SHIRT
When I received the Ridge short-sleeved shirt, I was surprised by the packaging itself. This is an immediate indication that "this is no joke" and that it is a very high-quality item. The packaging is nice and there is a lot of information about the item itself. Since I was a little afraid that the shirt would be very tight or quite compression-type, I preferred to order one size larger than I usually wear. When I took the shirt out of the packaging, I was immediately positively surprised by the material, which is very pleasant to the touch. On the first try, I realized that the shirt was a bit compression-type, but I could have easily ordered the size I usually wear, but I did absolutely nothing wrong with the larger size. I washed the shirt overnight, because I was heading to the Dolomites the next morning. I was grateful that it dried so quickly and that I could easily pack it for travel. The T-shirt left a really good impression on me from the first use, as the thermoregulation works perfectly. I was one of the very few hikers who wore short sleeves in the Dolomites in late September. The Ridge short T-shirt was completely sufficient for me, as it regulated my body temperature perfectly. I tried it a second time while walking and climbing Mrzla Gora, where it again fully met my expectations. Since then, it has been a regular companion in my outdoor training and mountain adventures. I also like the special pattern on the front and back of the T-shirt, as well as the color. I did notice that, although the pattern is what makes it special, it can optically expand the figure a little in the lower abdomen, but this is not that disturbing. Given the great satisfaction with the aforementioned item, I would like to try another long-sleeved T-shirt, because the colder days are approaching, or leggings, which are my favorite sportswear.
